Vanessa Cornejo Urbieta Laine (born May 5, 1982, in Huntington Beach, California) is the wife of Kobe Bryant a American All-Star shooting guard who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA)
In March 2009, Vanessa made headlines when she and her husband were accused of harassing their housekeeper Maria Jimenez, a Peruvian immigrant who is a U.S. citizen, says she worked as a full-time housekeeper at the Bryant’s Newport Coast home from September 2007 to March 22, 2008, and was making $50,000 a year, according to the wrongful termination lawsuit filed Friday. The Bryants’ lawyer, Mark D. Campbell, issued a statement denying Jimenez’s account. “Ms. Jimenez's outrageous allegations of improper conduct are totally unfounded and patently false,’’ Campbell said. “The Bryants intend to vigorously defend against these untruthful allegations and are confident that the baseless nature of the allegations will be proven.” Jimenez also alleges Vanessa Bryant screamed at her after one of the Bryants’ children came to Jimenez for comfort, the lawsuit says. Vanessa Bryant yelled, “I don’t want you to touch my baby. I hired you for housekeeping, not babysitting,” according to the claim.
The lawsuit says Jimenez was “constructively discharged from her job” because of such incidents.
Besides seeking money for wrongful termination, Jimenez also is asking for damages for emotional distress, unpaid wages, and invasion of privacy and breach of contract. She also alleges the Bryants never provided her with health insurance, and should pay for her $130,000 in hospital bills for an ovarian cyst, Vogeler said.
The case has been assigned to Orange County Superior Court Judge Kirk Nakamura. Let's see what the Orlando Magic have to say about Kobe's wife.

If one changes to a new employer after 180 days,
How much support (documentation etc) does he/she need from the ex-employer or the ex-employers attorney?
After 180 days, so I assume I'll have the receipt notice and hopefully EAD and AP (also have I-140 copy).

---When i filed the EAD renewal i was still on H1B. Just filed EAD as a backup.
2. So do you have H1B on 'Last entry status' and 'AOS pending' on 'Current status' questions?

My husband has got a query on his I-140 now and it would take another 2-3 months before USICS makes a decision. His company is not doing well financially and we are worried if the I-140 would get denied. My understanding is, if the I-140 gets denied, the EAD will no longer be valid.
Would anyone happen to know what would happen to the EAD, if the company files a MTR (Motion to Reopen) and appeal against the I-140 denial (if it happens) ?

USCIS will send 2 FP notices for the same appointment date & time, If you have filed G28 for your I-485, one to your attorney and one to you.

I was on H1.. but i quit my job and i am currently enrolled as a Full time student.
I need to go to Mexico as part of my Study program....
I have received the change of status from USCIS..but i need to get my passport stamped..
I have not been successful in getting an appointment in Canada....
>>is there a wait time in any canadian consulates...for more than 2-3 days????
>> Can i go to mexico and get the visa stamped during my stay there..is it risky???

Hi psychman!
In a nutshell, you can't because WebClient cannot access the file system. One thing you can do is install a web server on the machine - IIS, Apache, etc. Would that be something you would be interested in doing?

Hi everyone,
I applied for my I-131, I-765 and I-485 together under EB-2 category on the 13th of September 2010. I got approval letters for both I-131 and I-765 by the 9th of November 2010. My wife and I also received our EAD cards and travel documents. But today I got another set of receipts for both I-765 and I-131 with rfe for photographs. The receipts number are different in both the previous and new receipts and the new ones are showing up in pending state on the USCIS website.
Please let me know what can be the reason I got these duplicate receipts and what should be the next steps.

Now - I am planning to switch to another job for Title , Hike. Not happy with the current company.
I have the following question :
1) If I switch,what will happen to my I-485 / I-140. do I need to reapply ? . do I lost my priority date.
2) If I go to India, what will happen to My 485/140. Can I change AOS to consular processing.
Please advise.

Otherwise you can take a vacation on H1.

Q : Will this affect my ability to travel?
Possibly, if you leave the country prior to the completion of the receipting process and do not have the appropriate travel documents, you may have difficulty returning to the United States.

My wife does not plan to start her GC with her employer and now I want to include her when filing I-485.

My wife had the same situation - was going to be out of town on the scheduled day. She went to the Dallas office on a Wednesday or Thursday and explained the situation to them. They said they were busy that day and said she had upto 89 (?) days to do it. They said she could walk in on any Saturday within that time frame. They also said that there was no need to reschedule. Sure enough, she went in on a Saturday 2 or 3 weeks after the scheduled date and they took her fingerprints.
